I was so pleased recently to see that a hand-painted mural project I did for Atlanta designer Gina Sims's dining room was featured in Natalie Paper’s new book Start With The Art - What a treat!
Grab yourself a copy as it's full a great ideas for how to incorporate artwork into your spaces.
I hope you all enjoy the rest of your January. (Which is already halfway over?) Next time you hear from me I may be reporting from my new studio space. One can dream!
XO, Faye

Our home renovation is moving along at full steam and has me living in a space of logistics and decision making I never realized existed.

Me figuring out how wide the top and bottom of a brass cap has to be on a sideboard (soon to be vanity) table leg that’s tapered and being shortened. Shortened enough to allow for the p-trap to fit in the cabinet and maintain structural integrity but not shortened to the point of making the vanity too low. Also I’m on a budget.
Turns out the caps I found online were not the answer. So much so that my pride won’t even allow me to share a photo of how bad they looked. (Think: Crocs but for table legs not human legs.) This is the part where it is REALLY handy to be good friends with a formally trained German carpenter.
Thank you Custom by Marius for spending a Saturday morning retrofitting the legs of this piece to fit the original caps.
Access to true expertise is invaluable to creating a high end result. Atlanta designers be sure to keep this guy on your roster of expert craftsman if you need help making your vision a reality.
